Northern Territory Athletics are hosting the Championships in Darwin in June of 2017. As well as recruiting competitors, we are inviting local and national organisations to consider the benefits of collaborations. We are determined to make these games the most successful and enjoyable games seen in the event’s 35year history.
It is anticipated that 200 proudly local Territorians, will be taking part in the 2017 championships, with the mean age of participation being 40 to 50 years’ age bracket. We are also expecting over 500 interstate competitors to travel to the Top End and stay for a minimum of five nights. Based on previous years’ data, many of these 500 competitors will bring their families, friends, coaches and other support networks, so the number of visitors may be double or treble that estimated 500.
With this influx of visitors we can expect to see a great boost in the local economy, as competitors and their families utilize this opportunity to explore the great places the Territory has to offer.
WHAT WE OFFER
Our current emailing database has 5000 recreational runners, which has steadily been growing since 2012. This is coupled with the actuality that the NT City2Surf Facebook page has 3000+ followers and a further 1355 followers on the Athletics NT page. In addition to this, the Australian Athletics Masters has over 2500 emailing-addresses of participants that we will be emailing over the next 12 months.
In the lead up to the games, we plan to use a multifaceted strategy across all these digital platforms. This will ensure that all marketing activities will be seen, read and heard, locally, nationally and on an international scale.
It is our understanding that not everyone has the financial capacity for Gold Sponsorship, so we have developed three different types of sponsorship, ranging between $50 – $10,000 and in-kind. All of the details are contained within the proposal.
